Camera Shy

Anyone who knows our children and their personalities understands that our boy Adrien loves to eat. Well, today we decided to take some pictures of him as he ate lunch. He wears no clothes, at least no tops during this "feeding" time because it saves us a butt load of laundry. Well as it turns out, our mister man was uncharacteristically shy and continuously kept turning away from the camera as he ate. It was very cute, because Adrien, who is typically a ham for the camera, was reluctant to have his picture taken while he enjoyed his lunch.

Movie Night

Tonight we watched mommy's favorite movie growing up, "Little Nemo in Slumberland". We took all of the pillows and blankets off of mommy and daddy's beds and the kids silkys and we all snuggled on the floor. Adrien was excited by the movie and enjoyed having all of us out on the floor-- mostly to climb and jump on. Lily was very glued to the movie and appreciated the suspense and thrill of the film. It was jam packed with dragons and "monsters" and dinosaurs and fun things kids dream about like flying with butterflies and bouncing on balls in the clouds. They loved it! And it was a good one to reminisce to.

Clothes, Soap, Dogs, Mermaids, Food and the Color Pink

We wouldn't normally bore everyone by posting a ton of photos of the kids while they take baths but, Adrien decided he couldn't contain himself and jumped into the water with his clothes on. We also, bought some fun soap to try on the kids and see if they enjoyed it. Adrien loved it... he of course had to try it out and continued to EAT the soap until we rinsed it off. Unfortunately there are no photos of Lily and the soap because she kept squealing and saying "No, gross!" and because we are so nice ;)we thought we would not make her cry. The soap then, turned the water pink and Lily, in Lily fashion, pretended to be Ariel and simultaneously a dog drinking from a water bowl, as shown in a couple pictures.

We also took a few more pictures of little Bijoux and thought, because she is so small still that family might enjoy seeing her; as she does grow so fast.

Bath time is Play time

Sometimes when it has been a long day we plead with the kids to go to bed. Often the reason they agree to head to bed peacefully is because the next morning they can play with the bath art supplies. The creation of crayons and paint made especially for the bath is fantabular! (thanks grandma) The kids get to play and express themselves while bathing and we are fortunate enough to have an extremely easy clean up after their art projects-- and we get to snicker at Adrien while he LICKS the paint off the wall, Yummy; and watch Lily as she swims like a "mermaid" and rescues Prince Eric.

A Little Lady

Bijoux is so little and young still that she grows miles every day. We took the time to take a few pictures of her to share:

Surprise Visits and Escaped Toddlers

We went home to Washington to visit family over President's Day weekend, the fun was that our visit was a surprise to ALL of our family. We showed up at Matthews' parent's house at 1am Friday morning and went to our good friend Kina's wedding reception on Saturday. Since being home we jumped back into classes and re-decorated our apartment-- again! This redo was based off of Lilianni's sleeping patters; she WILL now sleep in her own bed and leave Adrien a comfy crib to sleep in IF they share a room together. So, at the moment they share a room and we have a "play' room until Bijoux is old enough to share space with Lily. We appreciate this arrangement because of the nights rest we get now too.

A humorous but scary moment occurred the other morning; Matthew left for class and I headed to the bathroom and in those few seconds in the bathroom, Adrien managed to open the door and run outside in the snow without clothes on (it was bath time)and I had no idea until a few moments later when I heard a man's voice inside the house asking where "mommy and daddy were?" I raced out of the potty and to the living room, where a kind man was standing with my naked little boy. Very scary. But all, fortunately, is well.

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With Strings...

Today we were anticipating the arrival of a package in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Franklin that was supposed to have Lilianni's Halloween princess costume in it and to our surprise they sent along a Valentine's Day package for the kids. We were so happy and excited but had to wait for the kids to wake up from napping-- it was really hard to refrain from waking them up. But when they did wake up the kids were so excited to open up their gifts and eat some chocolate. It was a very sweet surprise from Grandma and Grandpa and we really appreciate it!

Singing in Church

As we were getting ready this morning Lilianni started telling Adrien to "shake his booty" after they started to dance without music Lily burst into song, singing the "Pants on the Ground" song! We aren't exactly sure how she knows the lyrics but she does, AND she knows them well. This is very cute, except embarrassingly sweet for us as parents when the singing continues at church. Which it does.

PLAY DATE

Lilianni's friend Torianna is coming over to play today. Lily has been asking for her all week, so now is her chance. We hope however, that Lily plays nice. She has this territorial thing with her brother, Adrien. Anytime someone tries to play or use something of HIS she gets extremely defensive for him and will chase down any item that belongs to him and retrieves it. Overall, the relationship between Tori and Lily is good, especially in comparison to Lily and her cousin Madeline, they always fight and chase each other into corners. When those two corner each other they scold one another and the play time usually results with cousin Madeline hiding under the kitchen table.

Mama Bought a Brand New Pair of Sneakers

Today we realized that we lost our debit card and had to drive 30 minutes away to see if we left it at... Wendy's. We couldn't just call because our phone would not let us make outgoing calls today, so we drove to Idaho Falls to, hopefully, pick up our card. And fortunately, there it was! So, like any American we went and bought stuff. One of those items was a brand new pair of running shoes, so that I can get my butt back into somewhat of a decent shape again and we also printed off 131 single print pictures!! Now we can finish up 2 years worth of scrap booking-- after we fight Lilianni to sleep in her bed tonight though of course.

Pretend Make-Up

Last week we removed black sharpie from our bathroom cabinets, floor, door and walls. This of course in thanks to the mischievous, Lily and Adrien.
Tonight, after it got extremely peaceful and quiet, we decided to relax after another packed, long day. Of course this resulted in the disappearance of Lilianni who had in 10 minutes time found a black sharpie from a zipped duffel bag and decided to paint herself black. It was everywhere!! She applied it as make-up to her face and nail polish to her nails and as tattoos everywhere in between. Even better, she absolutely felt impressed to make beautiful art on our bedroom walls.
